About Opalis

Opalis is a school clubs app built by Journey Productions. It puts a school's clubs, its private hubs, its chat and its calendar in one place, and it is free for students.

What Opalis is

Opalis is software for high school extracurricular life. Students use it to find and join their school's clubs, to start private hubs for groups that were never going to be official, to see every meeting on one calendar, and to study with Omni. Faculty advisors and school administrators use it to run the club programme: rosters, approvals, attendance, participation and service hours.

Who builds it

Opalis is not these other things called Opalis

The name is not ours alone. Opalis Software — Opalis Robot and Opalis Integration Server — was a Microsoft IT-automation product that became System Center Orchestrator, and it is documented on Microsoft's own site. There is also a European software company at opalis.eu, and a French cleaning company trading as Opalis Propreté. None of them are related to this Opalis, which is the school clubs app at opalis.app.

What we will not do

• No advertising in the product, at any tier, ever.
• No selling or brokering of student data.
• No charging students. Schools pay for the administrative side; students do not.
• No cross-school visibility. A school sees its own campus and nothing beyond it.
